By organising local events we aim to introduce people of all ages and abilities to the benefits of swimming, cycling and running.

We are keen to hear about your sporting experiences and achievements, especially if you have just started out. So whether you are looking to lose weight and enjoy a more active lifestyle, or to compete at local and national events, maybe you can identify with one of us.

What are you waiting for, just pick an event and get on with it!

Thank you to all the Stampede runners for coming along today. We would also like to offer our sincerest apologies for the marshaling error which resulted in the course being 1.4 miles longer than planned.

As you may know this is our first event in this village, which means new marshals. We can assure you that all of our marshals are given individual briefings, course maps and specific directions. Unfortunately one of our marshals did make an error in sending you all in the wrong direction, which meant a longer course and water stations further on than planned. Human error does occur and we, as race organisers, do take full responsibility.

One thing that really pleased us was the fantastic positive reaction that 99% of you showed. We're sure that many of you can appreciate the months of hard work that goes in to an event like this, and it's a shame for us that the races's reputation has been tarred in it's first year. But we can't be everywhere doing everyones job, and if one person makes an error it affects everything! It really humbled us that when it would have been easy to criticise, you recognised the fact that we did all we could to rectify the situation quickly, and provide you with the kind of run you came to do. So, you all deserve a pat on the back for your steely, good humoured determination.

Well done to all who took part, it was a tough course on a hot day and you all did extremely well.

Alexia and the team.

Steve's race report coming soon.

After her best attempt at Ironman 70.3, Alexia came away with a disappointing DNF. Check out her Triathlon page to find out how it all went so wrong…
